A graphic designer and illustrator who started a jewelry business, Designs by Romi (shawl pins and sticks), in 2005 after getting hooked on lace knitting. Now working on a book for Interweave Press: knit and crocheted jewelry using wire, beads, and fiber. Romi has made jewelry (and knit & crocheted!) since about 7 years old. Romi will be teaching us her “Ice Queen” from knitty.com winter issue 2007. This is a good way to learn basic lace and knitting with beads. You can also make this beautiful garment out of bamboo or merino silk for more of a summer weight and make a shawl instead of a cowl if you wish, we will have the “summer” example as soon as Romi whips it up!
