Fall Beanie for munchkin land

Posted on July 14 2015

20131011-102241.jpg Today is the first day we turned our heater on, brrrr! I had a one day project and knit our kiddos beanies. Love the way they turned out and so do the kids! Thought I'd share my easy pattern. (Note: this pattern fits my four year old and my almost two year old, to fit an adult you'll need at least 4 more stitches) 1 skein "Staccato" by Shi Bui (SOO much yardage! Makes at least 3 of these beanies) 65% machine washable merino 30% silk 5% Nylon 191 yards About 85 yards machine washable worsted weight yarn. I used a discontinued yarn by Bouton d'or "Gaia" #10/ 16" circular needles *with both yarns held together cast on 61 sts. Knit 1 purl 1 ribbing for 4" Decrease: Row1: ((staying in pattern through out decrease rounds!!))* knit/ purl 9 stitches, k2tog* repeat for entire round Row2 (and every been row): knit your knits and purl your purls. Keep close attention because you will now have more knits Row3: *knit 8, k2tog* repeat for entire round ((stay in pattern - knitting knits and purling purls) Row5: *knit 7, k2tog* repeat for entire round Row7: *knit 6, k2tog* repeat for entire round *you see how this is working??* Row9: *knit 5,k2tog* repeat entire round Row10: *knit 4, k2tog* repeat (by now you may need to switch to DPN needles. Row11: *knit 3, k2tog* repeat Row12: *knit 2, k2tog* repeat *now you are almost done! Cut yarn leaving 6-8" (for weaving in) thread your wool needle and weave yarn through your remaining stitches. Cinch tight and weave your yarn in nicely, so you don't see ends poking out. And ta-da! Happy knitting!! xx Ash 20131011-102434.jpg 20131011-102211.jpg
