Yes, the summer heat is on in Petaluma…the perfect time to knit with linen! We’re in love with linen at Knitterly. Made from the long, straight fibers of the flax plant's stem, linen is cool and drapey, the perfect thing for knitting warm-weather garments. But if you've never knit with an inelastic fiber, linen yarns can feel pretty different the first time you try them.
The entire staff had a linen workshop with the wonderful and knowledgeable Elizabeth Doherty, so we’re all geared up to help you knit with linen from start to finish with the many patterns we have in the shop written especially for linen, and even some free downloadable patterns for those of you who want to try linen with a small project…perhaps a bath mitt?
We have a cool and lovely collection of Sparrow and Kestrel from Quince & Co., so what’s to stop you?
Come in and get your linen on!
