Brooklyn Tweed Arbor
Brooklyn Tweed Arbor is the first yarn with their new spinning mill partner in New England. Worsted-spun Arbor offers a great counterpoint to their core woolen-spun yarns Shelter, Loft and Quarry. They spun Arbor at a DK weight — its sweet spot falls between 51⁄2 & 6 stitches per inch — with an aim to create a strong workhorse yarn that is perfect for sweater and accessory knitting. Arbor’s fabrics are light enough to wear from Spring to Fall (or anytime in Northern California!), and the yarn’s weight will be accessible to most knitters. Arbor’s worsted-spun construction gives handknit fabrics a refined balance between drape and loft.
FINE WOOL Arbor is spun from pure 23-micron Targhee fleece, sourced from flocks in Montana and South Dakota, that is soft enough for next-to-skin wear.
STRENGTH Arbor is a worsted-spun yarn that is sturdy and strong while maintaining a bounce and elasticity that make it a joy to knit. Targhee’s fine crimp gives this yarn a unique, lively hand.
STITCH DEFINITION Arbor’s round 3-ply structure provides amazing stitch definition in knitted fabric. This yarn was specially developed for superior performance in cable and texture patterns, leaving each stitch crisply defined.
